Has anyone else ever noted that the colour of text and its background may work well for the light theme, but at times is not so clear in the dark theme mode?
The text and its background seem to have been designed around contrast rules for when there is a white background (and works well). The problem is that the same combinations have been carried over to the dark theme where the contrast at times fails.
I think different people with different monitor setups are likely to see reduced contrast for different colour combinations. For my eyes and main monitor (which is colour-matched) the red text on a red background is the hardest to read, while it is just fine when using the light theme.
As for why I do not just use the light theme, well I have a very large monitor and there is only so much white/grey background I can cope with over the day.
